The Praxis: Film and Visual Arts program is proud to announce its curators, Adit Dewan and Jaheen Faruque Amin, two distinguished voices in the Bangladeshi film and arts scene.
Adit Dewan, a filmmaker and curator from the Chakma indigenous community of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, is the co-founder and director of the Hill Film Festival and HFF School of Film and Visual Arts. A graduate of Dhaka University in Zoology and Jadavpur University in Film Studies, Adit’s latest work, Not Only the Ants’ Story (2024), is a hybrid film he wrote, directed, and edited. He has been a Goethe Pop Up Curator, chosen by Goethe-Institut Bangladesh, and a recipient of the Prince Claus Fund Seed Awards in 2022. Currently, Adit is working on his first feature fiction.
Jaheen Faruque Amin, a Dhaka-based writer-filmmaker, co-founded the Auteur Collective, a screenwriter-filmmakers collective, in 2022. Known for his award-winning short film Nonexistence, Mon Amour (2015), Jaheen also co-authored the acclaimed film Hawa (2022). He holds a degree in Arts and Aesthetics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India, and is currently developing his debut feature film.
With such accomplished curators at the helm, Praxis is set to provide participants with an enriching, creatively charged environment.
