On October 25, 2024, the HFF School of Film and Visual Arts, in collaboration with Ground Zero Bangladesh, hosted an insightful masterclass on film direction led by acclaimed Bangladeshi director Sukorno Shahed Dhiman. Known for his celebrated films Bunker Boy and Mahut, as well as his work on the hit film Hawa, Dhiman shared his expertise with a select group of early-career filmmakers.
The three-hour session at Ground Zero Bangladesh offered participants a rare opportunity to learn about the nuances of directing from one of Bangladesh’s prominent filmmakers. Dhiman discussed his creative process, techniques in direction, and the importance of art direction in storytelling, drawing examples from his award-winning projects and his forthcoming web series, Feu.
This masterclass was part of Praxis: Film and Visual Arts, a six-month program focused on nurturing Bangladeshi filmmakers and visual artists. Out of many applicants, ten dedicated participants were selected to join this intensive workshop, enriching their understanding of film direction and creative vision.
The successful event underscored HFF School of Film and Visual Arts and Ground Zero Bangladesh’s commitment to fostering the next wave of cinematic talent in Bangladesh.
